Hybrid Roof System with Synergy IsoboardMeans Substantial Savingsfor Hyperstar project
A hybrid roof system consists of a base of XPS insulation topped by one or more layers
of polyethylene sheets (PE) insulation. “It’s good roofing practice to have at least two
staggered layers of insulation to prevent thermal bridging (or the movement of heat
across an object that’s more conductive than the surrounding materials),” explained
Davari Engineer, Contractor of Hyperstar roofing section.
With XPS extruded polystyrene’s high R-values and polyethylene sheets’ stability and reliability – XPS’
R-value remains consistent over time – energy is less likely to escape on the roof.
